Having full root-level access signifies that you can access and customize any file on a selected server, which includes all system files, and to change system settings or set up server-side software that may be required by certain scripts and even offline applications to work properly. A server is accessed at the root level with a root user, which has full privileges to do any of the aforementioned tasks. Your root user may also make various other users. For safety reasons, you are advised to have another account for routine tasks and to use the root account only if you actually need to perform a task on the hosting server. The root-level access attribute provides you with full control over your server from any kind of location, provided that you know the user credentials.

Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers

Our VPS hosting plans include different levels of access, in order to give you the option to select the one you need, based on your level of experience and on what you want the server for. If you buy a VPS without Control Panel, you'll have full root-level access and you'll manage everything using a console, unless you set up a third-party software instrument. The servers that are ordered with the DirectAdmin or the cPanel website hosting Control Panel also come with full root access, yet most of the things that are linked to your online content can be done with a graphical interface and not a console. You are able to set up various frameworks or media streaming software, for example, without any problems. If you obtain the virtual hosting server with the Hepsia Control Panel, you may still use a Secure Shell console to connect, but the root access is reduced. Yet, the Hepsia-equipped servers are the easiest to take care of.

Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers

If you select the cPanel or the DirectAdmin web hosting Control Panel, you'll have full root access to your new dedicated server, regardless of which of our packages you'll choose during the signup process. The same is valid if you choose not to install a Control Panel at all. Our servers give you the chance to run both very resource-demanding applications that are too heavy for a shared web hosting account and applications that have specific requirements as to what the software environment on your web hosting server has to be. The latter is something which cannot be achieved on a shared machine, because no server-side software can be installed on it. The difference between the aforementioned alternatives is that without a Control Panel, server management can be done only from a console, whereas if you obtain cPanel or DirectAdmin, most system settings and your website content will be controlled via a graphical interface. If you select Hepsia, which is the last Control Panel option on the order page, you will get a server with restricted root access.
